The Comfort of Complacency

It may start with a day off here and continue with a pushed back deadline there… a missed time of study, an extra hour of tv, and before you know it, complacency has set in.
Complacency: a feeling of quiet pleasure or security, often while unaware of some potential danger, defect, or the like
Complacency has a way of making negative things seem ok. It’s ok if we don’t make that small goal this week; we have so much more time next week. It’s ok if we haven’t made any progress; we will get to it sooner or later.
However, complacency is a liar. Complacency covers up the fact that every time you give in to its demands, the possibility of reaching your dreams gets a bit smaller. Every time you bask in the seat of complacency, it gets harder to get up and go after your dreams. A little time with complacency will lengthen the track to your purpose.
You cannot afford to give in to complacency! Yes, going after your dreams takes a lot of work. It takes some diligence to embrace purpose. It gets tiring to continually strive for greatness.
But the payoff is so worth it!
Don’t let your dream stay a dream. Make it a reality. Keep going hard after your goals and ignore the call of complacency. Your dreams are waiting for you!
