Moments of Worship
Happy New Year! I pray you are celebrating this new chapter and kicking off 2016 full of purpose!
This new year began with a couple of challenges for me. Yep, we are only about a week and a half in, and I’ve already taken some hits. I am not one to be automatically positive, so it’s been a battle to keep my pessimistic nature at bay. However, in spite of what has been going on, I have been at peace. I have been settled in my spirit. I’m not freaking out. I’m not stressed out. I’m not losing any sleep. I’m still assured in my destiny walk.
I may have my church to thank for that. Right now we are in the midst of 40 days of worship. We are spending time in worship daily for 40 days. Not a day has passed where I have not spent time before my Heavenly Father’s throne. And there is no way that I can do that and be stressed, freaking out, or unsettled. No way.
There is something about taking some quality time and spending it with the Lord. Now quality has nothing to do with quantity. Some days I’ve done as little as 15 minutes (maybe even less), but the mere fact that I took time to stop, quiet myself, and focus all my attention on God has caused me to experience a noticeable change in my spirit.
So, today I want to encourage you – whether your last few days have been awesome or the opposite – to take some quality time with the Lord. This is not a time to ask for anything. It’s just a time for you to show Him your love and adoration. The miracle of worship is that when you pour out your love on the Lord, He always pours double back on you. You cannot enter His presence and not be changed. It doesn’t matter if it’s an hour or five minutes. When God shows up, He brings everything you need.
